Stephen A. Ingram, lovingly known as “Marshall #5,” born in 1945, passed away infused with the love of family and friends. A lifelong Californian until moving to Georgia in 2021, Stephen carried with him a deep love for people, faith, family, and adventure wherever he went.
Born and raised in California, Stephen graduated from Tennyson High School in Hayward and attended classes at Chabot College where he began forming the friendships and character that would define his life. He was affectionately known as “Marshall #5,” a nickname tied to the Hangtown Marshalls in Placerville, California-a cherished part of his life. He is unforgettable and loved by those who knew him.
Stephen never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and could make others laugh with ease. He loved socializing and brought warmth wherever he went, making people feel seen, valued, and at home in his presence.
A man’s man with an invincible spirit and many passions, Stephen loved motorcycles, guns, history, the outdoors, scuba diving and had a deep love for God and country. In the 1960s, he served in the United States Navy Reserve, a reflection of his patriotism and dedication to service.
His adventurous spirit and love for speed led him into motorcycles and racing, where he drove a race car called FOMOCO-often known as the fastest car in the Bay Area-a memory he carried with joy.
In recent years, Stephen deepened his commitment to his faith by attending a two-year ministry school through ASCEND Church, where he completed his studies and was ordained for ministry. His faith was a source of great purpose and joy, and he blessed many through prayer, encouragement, and service.
Stephen will be remembered for his loving heart, his humor, his adventurous soul, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Summer Ingram; his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Judy Ingram; his brother-in-law, Ed Dove; and a host of family and friends who love him dearly and will always cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Beth Dove, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Stephen’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the faith he carried, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His Celebration of Life will be held in Northern California. Details to come. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Stephen overcame and was faithful to the end. His heavenly rewards and eternal treasures are great. Forever one with Jesus.
