Susan is survived by her husband Jeff Dickey; children Darryl (Caroline) Dickey and Devon (Tyler) Teknipp; grandchildren Ellie, Addie, and Valerie; brother Steve (Mindy) Manders; and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and beloved family and friends.
Susan was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1985, where she was an outstanding basketball and track athlete. After high school, she went on to work as a paralegal in the metro Atlanta area. Later in life she began working in the front office at Locust Grove Middle School serving multiple roles before becoming the bookkeeper and emergency volleyball coach. Because of her experience and dedication at virtually every position in the front office she quickly became the go-to person with all the answers. There wasn't an event she didn't have a hand in, she was the glue that held the place together.
Outside of work, Susan loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Whether she was shopping for her kids and grandkids, snuggling with her dogs, lounging by the pool with her family, sipping coffee on the front porch, or taking the grandkids to the park, she filled every moment with love and laughter. Most of all, she was a loving wife, a devoted mama, and a spoiling granny. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone blessed to know her.
A visitation for Susan will be Friday, March 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253. A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Haisten chapel. A committal service will immediately follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
