Susie Gatliff Minter

Mrs. Susie Gatliff Minter, age 83 of McDonough, GA passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Mrs. Minter was born in Peach County to the late Tressie Elkins Gatliff and William O. Gatliff, Sr. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, John Rodgers Minter, brother, William O. Gatliff, Jr. of Byron, GA and sister, Annette G. Haynes of Tallahassee, FL. Mrs. Minter grew up in Byron, GA and was a graduate of Byron High School. After high school she moved to Macon and worked at Macon Hospital and Bibb Manufacturing Co. After the birth of her children she was a full time homemaker. She was involved in her children's school and sports activities. Mrs. Minter was an active church member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, Macon, GA, Franklin Street Baptist, Centerville, OH, and First Baptist McDonough. She loved to cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and church events. Mrs. Minter is survived by her son, Keith Minter (Shirley) of Fayetteville, GA; daughter, Kristi Jent (Steve) of Madison, MS; and grandchildren: Lindsay Moss (Jamie); Robert, Danielle, and Seth Minter; Andrew, Sarah, and Joshua Jent; sister-in-law Susan Gatliff of Byron; Aunt Virginia Rodgers Fall of McDonough. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home. A service to honor Mrs. Minter's life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Tom Bergman officiating.
