Mrs. Hindman was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma to the late Wade and Lena Thompson. She is also predeceased by her siblings; Pauline, Milton, Florine, J.B., Aline, Wade, and Gladys.
She married Bill Hindman on August 29, 1959. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Elementary Education, teaching public school for 20 years, and retiring in 2000. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, fishing, taking care of their horses, working in the garden, and especially enjoying her six grandchildren.
Mrs. Hindman taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, delivered Meals on Wheels, enjoyed the Red Hat Ladies club, was chaplain for the Locust Grove Women’s Club, and was a beloved pastor’s wife in all the churches they served in their 38 years of ministry.
She is survived by her husband Bill and sons Mark (Lydia) and Dale (Marti). “MeMaw” is also survived by her grandchildren Caleb (Liz), Stephen (Sommer), Daniel, Preston (Destin), Trevor and FaithAnn along with great grandchildren: Lukas, Riley and Joey as well as sisters Ruth (Lester) Irwin and Lavonne (Gene) Meacham.
A memorial service will be held to honor Mrs. Hindman on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Jackson at 1227 W. 3rd St in Jackson Georgia at 2:00. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service.
