Thelma Landers Carpenter

Mrs. Thelma Landers Carpenter, age 83, of Hampton, GA passed away March 21, 2015. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Moulton, AL the daughter of the late Bessie Leona Vandiver Landers and Luther Asberry Landers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Lee Carpenter and several siblings. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Moores Temple Baptist Church. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her church, quilting, board games, traveling, singing and was a good cook. Survivors are her children and their spouses, Betty and Jerry Everett of Hampton, Bobby and Charlotte Carpenter of Sharpsburg, Freida and David Carrington of Locust Grove and Joan and Joe Kelley of Locust Grove; 9 loving grandchildren, 21 precious great grandchildren, 5 sisters, 1 brother, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Carpenter will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 – 11:00 at Moores Temple Baptist Church in Hampton, GA with Rev. Bobby Carpenter and Rev. Jerry Everett officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 – 8:00 PM.
