

Thomas Smith Williams, age 82, of Conyers, Georgia passed away December 28, 2023. He was born May 20, 1941 in Washington, DC to the late Raymond and Audrey Smith Williams. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Williams and his biological father, Thomas Brown. Tommy faithfully served his country in the United States Army. He attended the Conservatory of Music, Central State College of Ohio and the University of Miami, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. He was a retired contractor for the United States Government and a member of Wesley Way United Methodist Church and former member of Zion Baptist Church in Washington, DC. Tommy had a love for music and has been singing his whole life, singing in church, at the Sangin Jazz Club and in the Covington Choral Guild, directed by Roger Waters. He enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid bowler. Survivors include his wife, Esther Brooks Williams; son, LeRonde Thomas Williams; daughter, Kasanje (Philip) Dembure; grandchildren, Nyasi Williams, Khaleeq Williams, Zani Dembure, Seka Dembure and Naya Dembure; sister, Sara (Robert) Tanner; niece and nephews, Katrice Tanner, Rashad Tanner and Sean Tanner; step-sons, Rodney (Judi) Brooks, Chad (Jennifer) Brooks and Jason (Rebekah) Brooks. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 - 2:00 pm at Wesley Way United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Stockbridge City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church.
