
Mr. Valentin Hemozkiy, 73, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on December 28, 2020. He was born in Ochsenfurt, Germany to Ivan and Stella Hemozkiy. Val loved God, his family and friends, and he loved to travel, especially to Spring Training with the Braves, visiting the other Major League baseball parks, and to the beach at Gulf Shores, Alabama. He liked photography, and spending time with his granddaughters. He was in charge of Mission Forest Park and was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Forest Park for many years. Val retired from UPS after 31 years. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda; son Charles "Chip" Hemozkiy of Greensboro, North Carolina; granddaughters, Abigail and Maggie of Locust Grove, Georgia; a sister Sophia Thomas of Mableton, Georgia; brother-in-law Grant Armstrong of McDonough, Georgia; nieces Chris Bartlett and Kimberley Bartlett; nephew Jason Bartlett, and his devoted dog Princess. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am on Monday, January 4, 2021, at First Baptist Church Forest Park. Pastor Elliott Yancey will officiate Val's funeral at 11:00 am on Monday at the church. Internment will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens in Piedmont, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mission Forest Park at First Baptist Church, Forest Park, 634 Main Street, Forest Park, Georgia, 30297.
