Virginia Kathleen Morgan

Virginia Kathleen Morgan was born February 24, 1927, in Pinellas Park, Florida to the late Edward and Annie Burpee. On Friday, January 28, 2022, at the age of 94, Virginia was reunited with her parents in Heaven along with her 6 siblings, grandson Richard Shirley and her beloved husband of 56 years Lonzo.

Known as the ultimate optimist, Virginia always found the good in any situation. She was kind, giving and some would say generous to a fault. Virginia loved animals and was always more than willing to take in the local stray dog or cat. She was also very comfortable in the role of second mom to many of her children's friends. Virginia has been referred to a "Rainbow of Sunshine" but could also be stubborn and strong willed. It was her strength that allowed her to live in her own home, self-sufficient until she was into her 90's.

It is this combination of kindness and strength that has been passed on to her children Carole Williams, Dennis Morgan, David Morgan and Lisa Lunsford. Virginia's true legacy lives on through those who were bestowed her unconditional love, her grandchildren, Suzanne Fox, Sonya Queen, Annie McCracken, Beau Morgan, Nikki McQueen, Amy Nichols, Ashley Massey, Cody Lunsford and Russell Shirley. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Virginia's family will receive friends on Saturday February 5, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Haisten funeral Home in McDonough, Ga. A celebration of her life will take place at noon. Virginia's interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
