Wallace was a Navy Korean War Veteran where he served two combat tours aboard the USS Wisconsin BB-64. He worked in the transportation and trucking industry for over 50 years where he was the co owner of C&M Repair Services in Ellenwood and he finally retired at the age of 86.
Wallace enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Faye Carey, His parents Dewey and Ellene Carey, four sisters, Gladys Carey, Sybil Schoyen, Ferrol Tyner, Gwendolyn Carey and one brother, Ross Carey.
He is survived by daughters, Carla (Dennis) Moye of McDonough, Alicia (Doyle) Stewart of McDonough, Denise (Russ) Tweed of Monticello, Tia (Joey) DiNino of McDonough. Eight grandchildren, Brandon (Stephanie) Moye, Lyndsey Thompson, Austin (Brittany) Moye, Carey (Victoria) Collier, Blayne (Taryn) Christian, Hunter (Laura) Collier, Braelyn and Haedyn DiNino. Six great grandchildren, Annastyn Moye, Kade Thompson, Bristol Moye, Novalee Christian, Luke Collier and Maverick Moye. Three brothers, Martin (Carol) Carey, Larion (Doris) Carey, Raleigh (Earlene) Carey and two sisters, Marie Young, Linda (Bant) Sexton and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10-12 on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Haisten Funeral Home. His celebration of life will be at 12:00pm on Wednesday in our Chapel. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
