He is survived by his son, Michael Jason McWaters, and his wife, Tiffany McMillan-McWaters of Suffolk, VA; daughter, Kelly Ann Bruce and her husband, Michael Bruce along with grandson, Roman James-Angelo Bruce of McDonough, GA; sister, Arlene McWaters, of Hampton, GA; former wife, Pamela McWaters of Jonesboro, GA; and several nieces and nephews. You would often find Gilbert sitting in his favorite recliner with his dog, Coco nearby, watching the Braves, NASCAR, UGA Bulldogs, and the Falcons. When not cheering for his teams, he also enjoyed fishing, play pool and spending time with his grandson, Roman. He will always be remembered as a gentle soul who loved his family. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for the viewing with services to follow from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, GA. Graveside services will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough, GA.
