Walter Graham Dail Jr.

Mr. Walter Graham Dail, Jr., age 88, of St. George Island, FL and McDonough, GA passed away September 5, 2018. Mr. Dail was born in Elizabeth City, NC, the son of the late Eunice White Dail and Walter Graham Dail Sr. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Herman and Cecil Dail and his late wife and mother of his children, Mary Jo Lambert Dail. He was retired from the FAA as a Chief Inspector. He worked for Eastern Airlines as a pilot before going to work for the FAA. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and was a volunteer pilot with the Air Force for the Berlin Airlift. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, flying, gardening, carpentry, sailing and being outside. He was a member of the St. George Island United Methodist Church and an affiliate member of McDonough First United Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, Martha Ann Powell Dail of McDonough; children, David Dail (Jeanne) of St. George Island, FL, Sharon Gilley of Jonesboro, Joellen Spivey of Macon; step children, Lee Ann Spinks (Danny) of Snellville and Todd Powell (Kelley) of McDonough; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the McDonough First United Methodist Church Friday, September 7, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Carol Cook and Rev. Rick Maeser officiating. A Private burial will be held at 3:30 on Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Macon. The family ask, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the McDonough First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 151 Macon Street, McDonough, GA 30253.
