Mr. Wayne Leamon McMickle, age 91 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away March 25, 2018. He was born in Tazwell, Georgia to the late Paul Jones and Nona Edwards McMickle. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rainey and Glen McMickle. Wayne faithfully served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Locust Grove. He was a superintendent for Ballenger Paving for several years, overseeing the paving of interstates, rest areas and airports. He built and ran Six Star Mobile Home Park in Locust Grove for many years. Wayne was a successful businessman who loved to wheel and deal in real estate. He enjoyed life, loved to travel and camp in his RV. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Louise McMickle; children, Gary (Debbie) McMickle of Loxley, AL, Terry L. (Cheryl) McMickle of Locust Grove, Rhonda (Paul) Stockard of Stockbridge, Connie (Dave) Huelsbeck of Gainesville; grandchildren, Daniel McMickle, Ashley Spears, Kim Watson, Brandon Watson, Jeremy (Jennifer) McMickle, Holly McMickle, Brian (Julie) McMickle, Jeff (Megan) Huelsbeck, Bryan (Stacie) Huelsbeck, Mark Huelsbeck, Megan (Terry) Mycoskie, Laura Trigg and Dau Trigg; great grandchildren, Chase, Connor, Dylan, Gavin, Sophie, Ella, Finn, Ashlyn, Kenzie, Austin, Ashton, Porter and Cierra; sister, Lynelle Cook of Florida. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 – 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Locust Grove. Rev. Kenny Heath and Dr. Paul Stockard will officiate. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
