She was born in Rockford, Illinois to the late Russell and Irene Bounds. Wendy enjoyed the beauty of sunflowers, spending time in the mountains and all things Elvis! Wendy held her greatest passion for her savior Jesus Christ and spreading His word through a camping ministry at Indian Springs with her husband of 23 years, Doug. Their ministry was set to resume for a 13th year after missing 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. Her love extended to her daughters Crystal (Johnny), Rene (Homer), Terra (Scooter), Amie and Samantha but her "wet kisses" were always reserved for the grandchildren; Micaela (Clay), Morgan, Dequon, Shawn, Austin, Alexis, Lucas, Madeline, Tristan and certainly a few held back for her first great grandchild that is on the way ! Wendy is also survived by her siblings Don and Penny as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Wendy and Doug were members of Rock Springs Church and her family invites their church family to join Senior Pastor Dr. Benny Tate as we celebrate Wendy on Saturday August 7, 2021 at 2 pm in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. A visitation will take place from noon until 2pm. All those attending are encouraged to wear purple in recognition of Wendy's favorite color.
