William Haywood Knight

Mr. William Haywood Knight, age 89 of McDonough, Georgia passed away November 30, 2015. He was born in McDonough to the late William Thomas and Ludie Everett Knight. Haywood was a graduate of McDonough High School, Class of 1944. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Haywood was a member of Timberridge Presbyterian Church. He worked for Planter’s Warehouse, Simmons Manufacturing and then retired from the McDonough Water Authority. He was a kindhearted, loving man. Gardening was a favorite summer pastime and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Edna Henley Knight; daughters, Carol Patterson, Kathy Knight and Joanne Hutchings; grandchildren, Bart Patterson, Hayli Smith, Brandon Patterson, Jenny Brewer, Alex Pence, Tayler Cahill, Buck Saye, Cody Hutchings, Hannah Hutchings and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. James Miller and Mr. Herman Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
