Although I will be unable to attend Mr. Mayo’s service, I want his family to know that his legacy lives on in his child/grandchild. He raised in his daughter a courageous young woman who has always been a champion of the underdog, whether that be human or animal. She is both a leader and a loyal friend. I know many of her traits were given to her by her daddy. Melissa’s daddy was her hero; she spoke of him often. Mr. Mayo, you left this world better than you found it, your family will continue to carry your torch. Rest In Peace.

We have been Darrell & Peggy's neighbors for 36 years. He has always been a great friend and great neighbor. He was a simple man with a simple outlook on life. We loved his humor. We have many fond memories of chatting with Darrell over the fence. You will be missed dearly neighbor!

I haven’t seen Darrell in many years, I don’t live down that way any more. As I remember he was always a good and nice person. I am his Daddy’s 1st cousin. I am so sorry
