To the family of William L. Russell:

(Jeremiah 29:11) reminds us that Gods true thoughts are of peace for us, not pain. MY reflection on his goodness comfort you during this very difficult time.

Bill was one of my dearest and oldest friends. I have no memory of meeting Bill for the first time. He has always just been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. We have shared many good times and memories during our 61 years. He was a special friend always looking out for me and making sure I was always included in any group outings or social gatherings. He was the first to call when a friend had passed away. He called me every New Years Day to wish me a Happy Birthday. He was the Best Man in my wedding over 34 years ago. I could go on and on but it's hard to fit a life time of memories in this little box. He was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth of a man. Not what was his church, nor what was his creed, but had he befriended those really in need. Was he ever read with words of good cheer, to bring back a smile, to banish a tear. Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, but rather how many were sorry when he passed away.

My heart and prayers are with you and your family Billy.
