Winston Gregory Higgs

Winston Gregory Higgs, age 66, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. He was born on September 2, 1958, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Winston Henry Higgs and Irma H. Curl. In addition to his parents Greg was also preceded in death by his sister Linda.

A quiet and humble man of faith, Greg lived a life dedicated to his family, work, and passions. He worked at Scott’s Hyponex for 50 years, starting at the age of 16 and continuing his hard work and dedication through the rest of his life.

Greg shared a deep and lasting love with his high school sweetheart, Debra. The two were married in 1978, and together they celebrated 46 years of marriage.

Greg’s passions included hunting and classic cars, hobbies that brought him much joy. Above all, he cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Higgs; their only child, Jessica McCabe, who is married to Tim McCabe; and his two grandchildren, Kaylee (21) and Ethan (8) McCabe, all of whom he adored.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Phillipi Church, 2355 Old Jackson Rd, Locust Grove, GA 30248 with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. A committal service will take place at Ohoopee Cemetery later that afternoon.
