Bernice Faye "Luke" Brown

Bernice Faye (Luke) Brown of Eddy passed away Thursday night, July 11, 2013, at the age of 87. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 15, 2013, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Dr. Milton Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery. Viewing will commence at 9 A.M. Sunday with a formal visitation from 6 to 8 P.M. at Cole Funeral Home.

Luke, as he was affectionately called, was born July 19, 1925, in The Grove, Texas, the son of the late Charles Franklin and Lillie Pearl (Howard) Brown. On September 30, 1949, he married Reba Lois Young in Belton, Texas. After thirty-two years, he retired from Texas Power and Light.Also preceding him in death were four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Reba Lois Brown; two daughters, Patricia Lois Huffman and husband Dennis, Brenda Faye Lightfoot and husband Steve; A twin brother, Bernie Ray Brown; Seven grandchildren, Denise Davidson and husband Craig, Dennis Lynn “Booger” Huffman, Leslie Polansky and husband Tommy, Rachel Rucker and husband David, Krystal Noey and husband Derrick, Cody Ritch, Austin Ritch; eight great grandchildren Dustin Lynn, Jesikah Lynn, Haley Grace, Adlen Grace, Caleb James, Landon Luke, Raylen Hope, Presley Faye and a great grandson arriving in October, Payson Douglas.
