

Billie Neal of Crawford died late Tuesday night, December 28, 2010, at the age of 70. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 31, 2010, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday at Cole Funeral Home
Mrs. Neal was born November 5, 1940, in Snyder, Texas, the daughter of Saint Elmo and Edna Dell (Horton) Hammit. She graduated from University High School in Waco and continued her education at Four-C Business College in Waco. For thirty years she was a dedicated office manager for Pledger Construction Company, who she considered to be her extended family. In 1999, she moved to Crawford from Lorena. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Heart of Texas Trail Riders Association and enjoyed horseback riding and dancing.
Preceding her in death was her father, Saint Elmo Hammit and a brother Robert Hammit.
Survivors include her mother Edna of McGregor; four daughters, Kele Crouch and husband Jeff of Robinson, Deedy Fletcher and husband Mike of Corsicana, Trae Kendrick and husband Brad, Niki Donaldson both of Crawford; two step-sons, Billy Ray Holt and wife Jimmie of Lorena, David Holt of Waco; and twelve grandchildren.
