Bobbie Joyce Owen

Bobbie Joyce Owen, age 90 of McGregor, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 in McGregor, Texas. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Valley Mills Cemetery in Valley Mills, Texas with Mr. Chad Lewis Officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Cole Funeral Home.

Bobbie was born on August 11, 1933 to Thomas James and Ruie Thelma Dill Smith in Waco, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McGregor and Crawford area. Bobbie was a member Shiloh Baptist Church in Crawford. She married the love of her life, Jack Dudley Owen on September 7th, 1957. They celebrated 38 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 1995. She enjoyed oil painting, playing dominoes, and most of all, being with her family and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include her son, Gary Owen and wife, Charlotte of McGregor, daughter, Sherry Barbiaux and husband, Darrell of Woodway; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Smith of McGregor, sisters, Mary Frances Smith of McGregor, Jane Nelson and husband, Pat of Crawford; numerous nieces and nephews; special cousin, Betty Slegers.
