Brandi Christine Franks

Brandi Christine Franks, age 40 of McGregor, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in Waco, Texas. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors in Waco, Texas, with Dr. Grant Kaul officiating. The burial will follow at McGregor Cemetery in McGregor, Texas. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Connally/ Compton Funeral Directors.

Brandi was born on April 26, 1985, to Todd Wesley Wisehart and Karla (Kemp) Hawthorne in Great Bend, Kansas. She and her family moved to McGregor in 1994, where she started third grade and met many lifelong friends. She loved her family and basketball, and even coached her sons' little dribblers basketball team, where they made many lifelong friends. Brandi graduated in 2003. In 2004, she gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Mariana Suarez. Then in 2007, she gave birth to her handsome son, Julian Todd. Brandi’s children were her world. She lived and strived to provide the best life possible for her family. When they played basketball, you would always hear and see her on the sideline cheering them on. Brandi married the love of her life, James Eric Franks, on April 20th, 2017, in McGregor, Texas, where she gained four bonus children, Hailey, Jameson, Joshua, and Colby Franks. Brandi loved them as if they were her own, and she helped James raise them to become the responsible and respectful young adults that they are today.

Brandi started working for Carpenter and Croft Law Firm in 2016, where she really found her purpose in life and became the person that God called her to be. There, she built lifelong relationships. She referred to Kathy Segovia as her work mom, and Kathy felt that Brandi was her working sister. This is only one example of how Brandi positively impacted all those she came in contact with.

Brandi is preceded in death by her father, Todd Wesley Wisehart; grandparents, Karl Kemp, Larry, and Dixie Wisehart; cousin, Kayn Kemp; and grandfather-in-law, Gary Franks, Sr.

Survivors include her husband, James Eric Franks of McGregor; daughters, Mariana Downs and husband, Brian, Hailey Franks; sons, Julian, Jameson, Joshua, and Colby Franks; granddaughter, Oaklynn Grace Downs; parents, Karla and Darrin Hawthorne; brothers, Wesley Wisehart and wife, Krysta, Russell Wisehart and wife, Neta, and Daniel Hawthorne and wife, Christina; nieces, Zayla, Zarah, and Paisley Wisehart; grandmother-in-law, Raymunda Franks.
