C.D. Hatchett Jr.

C. D. was born on January 23, 1933 in Foss Oklahoma, and passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 5, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In early 1953 C.D. met Kathleen Martin and they were married on June 13, 1953. C.D. and Kathleen enjoyed 55 years of marriage, until her passing in November 2008. After serving in the U.S. Army in San Antonio, Texas, and graduation from Oklahoma City University, C.D. began his business career working as a credit supervisor for Sears Roebuck and Co. in Oklahoma City and Lawton, Oklahoma before moving to Waco, Texas in February of 1969 to become a sales representative for L. L. Sams & Sons for more than 25 years, C.D. also owned and operated the Waco Wonder Wash Laundromat on 12th and Bagby from 1984-2006.

C.D. was a salesman at heart who enjoyed being around people. He will be remembered as a generous

friend, a devoted father and most of all a loving husband.

C.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; and parents, Clarence Sr., and Ada Mae Hatchett. Mr. Hatchett is survived by his children, Richard Hatchett and wife, Kim of Midland, Brenda Hensel and husband, Steve, of McGregor, Chris Hatchett and wife, Stacie, of Fort Worth, and Monte Youngs of Austin; brothers, Jim Hatchett of Hohenwald, Tennessee, and Victor Hatchett of Austin; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
