Clifford Cooper

Clifford Cooper, 91, was born March 12, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, and passed away September 8, 2026 in Waco, Texas. A man of steady purpose and quiet strength, Clifford lived with a thoughtful spirit that showed in the care he gave to others, the work he committed himself to, and the devotion he carried for those he loved.

After graduating high school, Clifford served his country in the United States Army. He later went to work for Garner Glass Company in California, where his hard work and reliability were evident across more than 40 years of dedicated service. In each season of life, he was known for a generous heart and a consistent willingness to give of himself without seeking recognition.

On December 20, 1964, Clifford married Joanna Elizabeth “Liz” Cooper in West Covina, California. Together they shared more than 54 wonderful years of marriage, until her death on April 28, 2020. Their life together was marked by deep devotion and enduring companionship. In 2013, they moved from California to McGregor, Texas.

Clifford and Liz were avid readers and found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures—quilting, music, stamp collecting, and dining out—interests that reflected their appreciation for learning, beauty, and time well spent together.

A Funeral Service will be held at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West 5th Street, McGregor, Texas 76657, on September 11, 2026 at 3:00 PM with Dr. Reverend J.T. Miller officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Marie Brandt Perry; nephews, Houston Perry, Brandon Perry, Brian Brandt, and Karl Brandt; great nephews, Bennett Perry, Rhett Perry, and Jonathan Cooper; and great nieces, Adeline Perry, Noelle Perry, and Deanna Gomez.
