Cordelia Sue Sloan, 16, of McGregor, Texas, formerly of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 at The Exchange Event Center in McGregor, Texas. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 at The Exchange Event Center.
Cordelia was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on May 8, 2003 to Terry Lee Sloan and Carrie Sue (Furgerson) Sloan. She was a member of the National Honor Society at McGregor High School, where she was a junior. Cordelia was Miss Teen McGregor 2019, a cheerleader, a member of the Interact Club, PALs, FCA, First Baptist Church, UIL, Drama Club, and Girl Scouts. She excelled in gymnastics, powerlifting, played a percussion instrument in band, played soccer and volleyball, and was a baseball, softball, volleyball, and basketball manager, a nursery worker, and a gymnastics teacher. It’s easy to see that Cordelia was full of spirit and life. She loved making horrible Tik Tocs, “YOLO”, taking pictures, and being embarrassed by her brother and sisters. Cordelia was kind, loving, giving and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Preceding Cordelia in death were grandfather, Hays Furgerson; uncle, Norman Weaver; great grandparents, Ira and Lora “Shorty” Sloan, A.H. Weaver, Jim and Pauline Williams, and Cassie and Nettie Furgerson.
Survivors include parents, Terry and Carrie Sloan; brother, Kaylen Sloan; sisters, Memery Sloan, Anya Sloan, Francesca Martino; grandparents, Glen and Sharon Sloan, Kent and Susan Morgan; uncles, Kevin Sloan, James Furgerson and wife, Donna; Lonnie Gilliam; aunt, Terri Gilliam; niece, Hudson Sloan; cousins, Makayla Derr, Kiaya Kerwin, Shealene Sloan, Akaycia Furgerson, Amari Furgerson, Camilla Furgerson, Paisley Furgerson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends.
