Donna Kris Haigood

Donna Kris Haigood, 62, of Moody, Texas, passed away on July 15, 2026. Born February 9, 1964, in Waco, Texas, Kris carried with her a steady, faithful spirit and a resilient strength that shaped the way she lived and loved.

Kris was the daughter of Jack Keel and Mary Ann Sims. She received her education through the Moody School District, where she was active and engaged—participating in cheerleading, band, and basketball. Even then, her devotion to others and her loyal, compassionate nature were evident in how she showed up for her school and community.

In her working life, Kris brought dedication and care to every role she held. She served as a manager at Michaels in Austin, Texas, and also worked at L3. With determination and creativity, she owned and operated a shirt business, Kris' Creations, traveling throughout the rodeo circuit to sell custom western apparel—work that reflected both her resourcefulness and her commitment to building something of her own.

Kris found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life: antiquing, crafting, and working in her yard. She loved her animals deeply, especially her dogs, Dax and Tinkerbell, and she took special pride in supporting her family—most notably in following her sons’ rodeos and football games. In these moments, her compassion and devotion were felt most clearly, offered consistently and without hesitation. Nothing meant more to her than being a mother and grandmother. She found her greatest happiness in the love of her sons and their wives, and she adored her grandchildren beyond measure. They were her greatest blessing and the light of her life.

Kris is preceded in death by her father, Jack Keel.

She is survived by her children, Clayton Tyler Haigood and wife Jordy, and Cooper Keel Haigood and wife Madison; her grandchildren, Haygen Haigood, Hayes Haigood, Maddox Haigood, and Hutton Haigood; her mother, Mary Ann Sims; and her brothers, Kyle Skipper and wife Becky, and Lee "Skip" Skipper and wife Tesa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family invites you to join them for a graveside service on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Moody Cemetery in Moody, Texas. A celebration-of-life reception will follow at Bammie Moore Hall, 508 Ave. E, Moody, Texas.
