
Joanna Elizabeth “Liz” Cooper, 79, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2020 in the McGregor Cemetery, officiated by Bill Sapperfield. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, Texas.
Liz was born on March 11, 1942 in McGregor, Texas to Bernhardt Walter Brandt and Margaret Pauline Gerhart Brandt. She grew up in McGregor, Texas and was Valedictorian upon graduation from McGregor High School in 1959. She graduated from Baylor University in 1963 and went on to receive her Masters of Education from the University of La Verne, California. Liz married Clifford Cooper on December 20, 1964 in West Covina California. She was a science teacher for 17 years and an Administrator at the Adult School in Baldwin Park, California. Liz was passionate about quilting, long arm quilting, and instructed quilting classes for children. She also loved to read.
Preceding Liz in death were parents, Bernhardt and Margaret Brandt, and brother, Howard Brandt.
Survivors include husband, Clifford Cooper; brother, Walter Brandt; sister, Marie Perry; nephews, Brian Brandt, Karl Brandt, Houston Perry, and Brandon Perry.
