Elizabeth Jane Hayes Threadgill

Elizabeth Jane (Hayes) Threadgill, age 94, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 in Eddy, Texas. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 1, at 10 AM at Bruceville-Eddy United Methodist Church in Eddy with Rev. Bob Bowling officiating and interment to follow in Eddy Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 31, from 6-8 PM at Cole Chapel in Moody, Texas.

Elizabeth was born February 4, 1921 to Herbert and Ada Mae (Smith) Hayes in Hazelton, Iowa. She received her RN degree at Iowa Methodist School of Nursing. Elizabeth served in the Army during World War II from March 15, 1944 to February 19, 1946 as First Lieutenant, Army Nurse. She was a resident of Eddy and a member at Bruceville-Eddy United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was also on the Board of Directors at Bruceville-Eddy Senior Citizens Center. She and her husband were founding members of the Bruceville-Eddy EMS.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Threadgill; son, Kenneth Threadgill; granddaughter, Robin McCowan; sisters, Avis Buchtela and Eleanor Earley.

Survivors include her daughters, Cecelia Neal and husband, Floyd, Shelley Kozel and husband, Bob, Becky Stith, and Amy Morgan and husband, Wayne; son, Daniel Threadgill; grandchildren: Billy Neal, Rebecca Hiatt, Tracey Neal, Jonathan and Jesse Threadgill, Amanda and TJ Stith, Andrew Kozel, Beth Donald and David Morgan; great-grandchildren: Robyn Neal, Zachary Hamilton, Christopher Hiatt, Hunter Jenkins and Chase Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Theresa Threadgill; four nieces and two nephews and their spouses and children.

Memorials can be made to Bruceville-Eddy United Methodist Church and Bruceville-Eddy Senior Citizens.
