

Frances Chandler, age 85, of Crawford, Texas passed away Friday, July 24, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, with Daniel Camp officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28th, at the funeral home.
Frances was born August 9, 1929 in South Bosque to Dolpha Warren and Fannie McIlhaney Warren. She married Jack Chandler on Sept. 26, 1947 at Harris Creek Baptist Church and they celebrated 67 and half years of marriage together, before his death on May 10, 2015.
Frances worked at the Waco Cookie Company and Central National Bank. She was at the downtown bank when the tornado hit Waco, in 1953. In 1961 she took the role of mother and homemaker. Frances excelled in cooking, sewing, and quilting, as well as farming and ranching. She returned to the workforce and retired from Smead Manufacturing in McGregor.
Frances was very active in the community. She was a 4-H Leader, a member of the McGregor Quilting Club, the Crawford Garden Club, the Home Demonstration Club, the Crawford Community Improvement Center, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, in Ocee, where she enjoyed the fellowship and friendship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Virginia Miller, Virginia’s husband Freddie, and her husband, Jack Chandler.
Survivors include son, Archie Chandler of Hewitt, daughter; Janice Chandler- Kirkland of Mansfield, brothers; Melvin Warren and wife, Mable, and brother Marvin Warren and wife, Kay, all of South Bosque, grandchildren; Jacob Chandler and wife, Hannah, Jill Chandler, Jordan Chandler, Michael Williams and wife, Brooke, Jarod Williams, Jessica Kirkland, and Justin Kirkland, great grandchildren; Brooklynn Tyler, Jayden Jacobs, and Jayce Kirkland.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Melissa Tyler, for all the love and special care she showed to mom.
