Georgia Belle Dixon

Belle Dixon, formerly of Moody, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the age of 91. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 18, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Moody with Rev. Mickey Fugitt officiating. Interment will follow in Moody cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Cole Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dixon was born December 1, 1918, in Lorena, Texas, the daughter of the late Charley Otis and Teresa (Sims) Shamblin. On October 2, 1935, she married John Carroll (J.C.) Dixon in Moody. After fifty-nine years of marriage, he preceded her in death April 19, 1995. Throughout her life, she lived in various places and enjoyed helping others and quilting. She was a member of Four Square Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Sam Shamblin, Paul Otis Shamblin; a sister Frances Westerdale.

Survivors include a son Kenneth Dixon and wife Jean of Anna; a brother Johnny Shamblin of Eddy; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
