OBITUARY
Harlan Burgess
April 22, 1949 – March 7, 2021
Harlan Kay Burgess, 71, of Crawford, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, March 7, 2021. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2021 at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas, officiated by Reverend Rankin Koch.
Harlan was born on April 22, 1949 in Moody, Texas to KC and Melba (Allen) Burgess. He spent his childhood in Fort Worth and Moody where he met Vicki Pratt. They were married on June 9, 1967 and they had Kristi Kay on June 13, 1972. After many years, Harlan met the love of his life, Jamie Damon and they married on June 4, 1994. Their son, Monty Damon was born on October 18, 1994.
Harlan was most happy driving a truck, deer hunting, or continuing the family tradition of trout line fishing for yellow cat. After many years of driving a truck, Harlan retired from H&B Contractors in 2013. He loved life to the fullest. In recent years, Harlan’s faith grew bigger than life.
Harlan was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, James Damon.
Survivors include wife, Jamie Burgess; daughter, Kristi Hunter and husband, Bill; son, Monty Burgess; grandchildren, Caidon, Stephanie, Melody; sister, JoNell Singuefield and husband, Joe; mother-in-law, Raydean Damon; sister-in-law, Cindy Damon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.

I met Harlan at a low time in my life after I had lost my daughter in a car wreck we became friends and later on more like brothers people often said how much we looked alike. Harlan was always there when I needed him when my daddy passed, and when Justin passed. I will truly miss u brother and we will meet again one day until then I have all the memories of our adventures. Gary
