Helen Ruth Brown Brooks

Visitation will be Thursday, March 20 from 6-8pm at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor. A Celebration of Helen's Life will be Friday, March 21 at 10am at the funeral home with interment to follow at Crawford Cemetery.

Helen was born September 28, 1941 in Waco, Texas to parents Frank and Nora Brown. She attended Midway schools and on August 21, 1959, she married the love of her life, Collin Brooks and together they raised four sons. Helen loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to quilt, enjoyed camping and fishing, painting and arts and crafts. Helen was extremely involved in her community. She and Collin were members of the Crawford EMS and Fire Department. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister and two brothers. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of nearly 55 years, Collin Brooks; sons, Ricky Brooks and wife Cheryl, Larry Brooks and wife Luanne, John Brooks and wife Jilla and Tim Brooks; 3 brothers, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
