Jack C Lawrence

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel in McGregor, Texas, with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Memorial Park in Crawford, Texas. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Jack was born July 26, 1921 in Trickham, Coleman Co., Texas to Chester Amos and Laura Mae (Gratham) Lawrence. He graduated from Abilene High School and lived in Abilene most of his life. On November 14, 1961, Jack married the love of his life Mary Helene Teichert. He and Mary, for 20 years were owner-operators of Lawrence Car Wash in Abilene before moving to Crawford in 1989 and were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church. After living in Crawford, they moved to Whitney in 1996.

He loved playing dominoes, telling stories, but his passion was fishing. He was known around Whitney as the best Crappie fisherman.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of over 43 years Mary; and Sister Ina Faye Jones.

Survivors include his daughter, Jacklyn Walker and husband Robert of Holly Lake Ranch; step-daughter, Marie Knuppel and husband Bob of Crawford; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Eleanor Sands of Plano; several nieces, nephews, and fishing buddies.

If desired, donations may be made in Jack’s name to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford.
