Janice was born on February 19, 1961, to O.L. “Doc” and Ruth Brinkley. She grew up in Oglesby, where she stayed to raise her own children, before the promise of being closer to grandkids made her relocate to McGregor. Her specialty was childcare. For over 30 years she provided private childcare services for countless local families. Once the first grandchild came along, “Miss Janice” was soon known by her new name–”Boppy.” Grandchild or not, she was Boppy to everyone. It was hard for her to go to the store or a local event without seeing at least one of her kiddos. Her love for them knew no bounds. Her faith, strong even to her last day, was a testament to those around her. She was a member of The Well in Moody, where she had served as an elder for a number of years.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Austin and husband Chad of McGregor; her son, Jared McClure and wife Jessa of McGregor; her eight grandchildren, Aaron, Jadyn, Ady, Molly, Asa, Emily, Kiyah, and CJ, who were her greatest source of joy; her sister, Betty Erlanson; her brother, Carl Lee Brinkley; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and over 100 “Boppy’s Kids.”
