

Jennie Lavon Mitchell, 50, of Gatesville, Texas, was born on December 11, 1975, in Gatesville, Texas, to Mable (Wilson) Miller and the late Larry Wayne Mitchell. She passed away on August 23, 2026, after an illness.
Jennie graduated from Gatesville High School in 1994 and, with steady dedication and a caring spirit, earned her medical certifications as a CMA and CNA and worked for many years until her health began to decline. She was then no longer able to continue working.
Jennie was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, JB (PaPa) and Lorene (Nanie) Wilson, and Jach and Gladys Mitchell.
She is survived by her mother, Mable Miller; sisters, Jackie (Jim) Craig and Robbie (Brandon) Ayers; and brother-in-law, Mark Blanchard. Jennie is also survived by two nieces, Jennifer (Alex) Simpson and Jessica Blanchard (Preston Donahoo), to whom she was especially close; eight nephews: Joseph (Victoria) Blanchard, John Mark Blanchard, Buddy Craig, James (Monica) Craig, Danny Craig, Sean (Hanna) Ayers, Talon Ayers, and Lucas (Izzy) Ayers; eleven great-nieces and great-nephews. Additionally, she leaves behind a very special cousin, Marsha Harris of Glen, Mississippi, and Thomas Baker, who loved her with all his heart. Jennie will be missed by many.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
