Jesus Guerrero

Jesus—a loving husband and father, a doting grandfather and great-grandfather, and a respected faith leader and friend—went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026, at 12:45 p.m., surrounded by loved ones and leaving behind enduring memories of a life well lived and a family well loved.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, on December 24th, 1949, Jesus would grow into a young man with talents in music, drawing, mechanics, and carpentry—all of which would serve him and the people in his orbit throughout his lifetime.

A Vietnam War veteran, he served his country proudly as a combat medic. Although he rarely spoke of his tour of duty, the time spent there would ultimately shape him into the man he later became, one of tremendous Love and incredible Faith.

Jesus lived a life defined by faith, dedication, and love for his family, both worldly and spiritual. As the Pastor of New Covenant Life Church in McGregor, Texas, he led by example, showing careful patience and the wisdom that through God, all things are possible.

Those who knew Jesus will remember him as kind, strict when needed, loving, and always willing to help. He was the person you could call when you needed guidance, support, or simply someone to be there.

Jesus shared a deep and devoted love with his wife, Rita. Their bond was strong and enduring, and Rita stood faithfully by his side through life’s journey.

He is survived by his wife and stalwart partner in life, Rita Guerrero; his sons, Daniel Perez (Christen), and Jesse Guerrero, Jr.; and his cherished grandchildren, Delaney (Jean) Mendoza, Tristan Perez, Abby Perez, Taylor Pickens, Zayne Veal, and Nathan Pickens. And his great-grandchild, Atlas Mendoza. Two brothers, Cesario Guerrero and Joe Guerrero, and four sisters, Tomasa Garcia, Estella Olivarri, Dora Munoz, and Amelia Garza.

Jesus is now reunited in heaven with his parents, brothers, and sister. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West 5th Street, McGregor, Texas 76657, on May 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Graveside Service will be held at Post Oak Cemetery, 2550 FM 1996, Oglesby, Texas 76561, on May 2, 2026, at 10:00 am.
