Josh “Stewy” Stewart of McGregor lost his battle with cancer Friday morning, July 6, 2012, at the age of 27. A celebration of his life will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Curtis Jones officiating.
Josh was born October 29, 1984, in Temple, Texas. In 1995, he moved to McGregor from Houston where he played football for the McGregor Bulldogs and graduated in 2003. For the previous five years he has been employed as a welder for Central Texas Iron Works. The avid University of Texas fan enjoyed living life to the fullest with his “best bud”, Bud Lite. He enjoyed tinkering with various objects as well as hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Ashlee; his parents, Michael and Shirleen Stewart;a daughter, McKennah Shae Stewart, a sister, Amy Michelle Stewart, a niece Tristyn Caye Newton and his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Motloch.
