Mr Juan "Juan grande" M. Martinez

Juan M. Martinez, 84, of Moody, Texas passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020. A funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, McGregor, Texas officiated by Deacon Victor Beltran, with interment to follow in Moody Cemetery, Moody, Texas. The visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas.

Juan was born on July 24, 1935, in Gregory, Texas to Mariano and Simona Martinez. He attended school in Asherton, Texas and was a member of Saint Eugene Catholic Church, in McGregor and San Juan Mission in Moody, Texas. He loved mowing his yard, and watching wrestling and old TV programs like "The Andy Griffith Show", "The Rifleman", and "Tom and Jerry" cartoons. Juan loved his children and all his grandchildren. He always gave advice to those around him by saying things like, “be strong and take care of each other.” The family will miss his laugh and his desire to dance and sing.

Juan was preceded in death by parents Mariano and Simona Martinez, and son Oscar Martinez.

Survivors include his wife Oralia; son, Richard and partner, Troy Bennet Mauricio Martinez; daughters, Graciela Martinez, Oralia Menottis and husband, Gregory; five grandsons; seven granddaughters; and 15 great grandchildren.

I remember Juan as a Happy go lucky man. He loved drinking a beer n shooting the breeze with family n friends. He will be dearly missed. Our condolences from all of us in Waco. May You Rest In Peace Juan. Say hi to Oscar.🙏♥️
