

Juanita G. Lightfoot of Moody died Sunday morning, October 9, 2011, at the age of 73. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Moody Church of Christ under the direction of Cole Chapel, 304 Eighth Street, Moody. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cole Chapel. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery.
Mrs. Lightfoot was born February 5, 1938, in the Eagle Springs Community, the daughter of the late Paul Jack and Lucille (Norman) Goodwin. She began her education in McGregor and was a 1956 graduate of Moody High School. Later, she continued her education at McLennan Community College in Waco where she earned an associate’s degree in nursing home administration in 1989. She owned and operated Hometown Care Center in Moody from 2002 to 2010.
In 1956, she married James Gibson. As an army wife, she traveled across the U.S. and Europe.
On November 27, 1981, she married Eugene Lightfoot in Bell County, Texas.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Wendy Gibson.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Lightfoot; two daughters, Tammy Emmons and husband Ted of Moody, Jamie Roberts of Gatesville; three sisters, Betty Pomerenke of McGregor, Paulette Richardson and husband Clarence of Moody, Linda Lightfoot and husband Clayton of McGregor; one brother, Jack N. Goodwin and wife Clydia of Moody;seven grandchildren Tasha Armida of Moody, Hutch Emmons of Moody, Tabitha Cartwright of Temple, Jessica Roberts of Temple, Jenni Roberts of Belton, Jaclyn Roberts of Gatesville and Jari Roberts of Gatesville; seven great grandchildren, Jacob Armida, Kyler and Kodie Emmons, Cayden Sohns, Aubrey Osborn, Tripp Cartwright, Raye Anne Johnson; three step-children, Steve, Brenda and Russell Lightfoot; five step-grandchildren, Samantha, Travis, Hannah, Rachael and Marissa Lightfoot.
