Mary Katherine Anderson, 91, of McGregor, passed away March 9, 2018 in Waco.

Visitation will be held at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor on Sunday, March 11th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Cole Funeral Home on Monday, March 12th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Terry Johnston of First Baptist Church McGregor and Pastor Joe Chamness of First Methodist Church McGregor officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford Cemetery.

Katherine was born August 25, 1926 to Benjamin Herbert and Eva Ann Webb Lawson. She attended McGregor schools and graduated in 1944. She soon married Pat Anderson on May 20, 1944, and they settled in McGregor raising their children and operating Anderson’s Texaco.

Katherine (or, as she was known to her grandchildren, Mama Kate, Grandma’s House, or simply House) was a member of the First Baptist Church, Red Hat Society and McGregor Garden Club. Without question, however, she most enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, playing cards, dancing, singing and enjoying “one more” of the many pleasures her full life had to offer.

Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Pat; her parents, Benjamin Herbert and Eva Ann; sisters Sue Holman, Ben Evelyn Rankin and Martha Killgore; brother John Paul Lawson; daughter-in-law Samantha Anderson; and granddaughter Renee Alyse Anderson.

Katherine is survived by sister Patsy Thrasher, and husband Ken, of Forney; son David Anderson of Oglesby; son Ronnie Anderson, and wife Cindy, of Ponte Vedra, Florida; son Robbie Anderson, and wife Retha, of McGregor; daughter Paula Hogan, and husband Al, of Forney; grandchildren Misty Cook and husband Wade, Cort Anderson and wife Stacie, Aaron Anderson and wife Susanne, Taylor Dawson and husband Stephen, Whitney Jefferys and husband Dane, Robbie Anderson and wife Brenda, Brittany Hogan, and Austin Hogan; and great grandchildren Cannon and Kai Cook, Caden, Ainsley and Claire Anderson, Skylar, Brynley and Lane Pace Anderson, Jazlynn, Devida and Vincent Anderson, Coen Mummey, and Lyla Kate and Sage Grace Dawson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be left in Katherine’s online guestbook at colefuneralhomes.com.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Westview Manor Nursing Home and Baylor Scott & White Hospice for their attention and peaceful care in her final days.
