Lahoma Bell English, 99, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A visitation will be from 8:30 a.m., at the graveside, until time of the service.
Lahoma was born on January 10, 1920, in Haileyville, Oklahoma to Thomas Russell Bell and Mabell Geneva (Kernell) Bell. Lahoma married William T. English on July 6, 1959. She was a secretary to the Tulsa Oilers hockey team and later a secretary at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Well known as dog lovers, Lahoma and William bred Labrador Retrievers. She was also recognized as a ballroom dancer with numerous trophies and ribbons to her credit. Lahoma and William enjoyed square dancing and she was an accomplished pianist. Lahoma was a gracious host at family gatherings and known as a thoughtful and warm-hearted person to all.
Lahoma was preceded in death by husband, William T. English; father, Thomas Russell Bell; mother, Mabell Geneva (Kernell) Bell; and daughter, Susan E. Welch.
Survivors include grandsons, Chris Clarkson and wife, Becky, Robert Clarkson; special friends, Helen Nigh, Denny Whinnery and wife, Connie; along with many friends.
