Margie Nell (Nelson) Williams

Margie was born to Ben and Mary Castleman and attended Cleburne School. After her mother’s death, she moved to Waco, Texas. On June 18, 1960, she married the love of her life, Joe Neal Nelson, and together they built a life marked by steadfast devotion and loyalty. Their family grew with the birth of three children: Jimmy Don Nelson (July 1961), Ernie William Nelson (September 1963), and Rose Mary Nelson (February 1972).

A faithful and hard-working woman, Margie dedicated herself to providing for her family through years of honest labor. She worked at Smead Manufacturer for 16 years and then M&M Mars for over 25 years before retiring, that reflected her steady commitment and selfless care for those she loved.

Margie found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life. She loved gardening—though not as much as watching her western shows—and her warm humor could brighten an ordinary day. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, holding close the moments that mattered most. She also enjoyed annual trips to Vegas with her husband and loved bowling at Westview Lanes in Waco, Texas.

Margie is survived by her sister, Barbara Wilson, and her brother, Robert Willick; her children, Jimmy Don Nelson and his wife, Ladonna, Ernie Nelson and his wife, Ann, and Rose Mary Nelson; her grandchildren, Clayton, James, Derek, Ty, Candi, Josh, Ashley, and Dakota; and her great-grandchildren, Colson, Sadie, Michaela, Mason, Josie, Evie, Andrew, and Mila. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother and sister, Dorothy and JR.

Visitation will be held at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West 5th Street, McGregor, Texas 76657, on August 7, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Crawford Cemetery on August 8, 2026, at 11:00 am.
