

A Service of Remembrance will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10am at the First United Methodist Church of McGregor, with Rev. Joe Chamness officiating. Visitation will be at Cole Funeral Home from 6-8pm Friday, April 11.
Mrs. Connor was born July 11, 1921 in Jewett, Texas to parents William Franklin and Emma Evans. On June 26, 1940, she married Charles (C.D.) Conner in Centerville, Texas. Maxine and C.D. moved to McGregor in 1952 and purchased a drive-in grocery store on Hwy. 84, which after several years evolved into the business of Connor’s Furniture and Appliance Sales. The couple managed the business together until C.D.’s death in 1994. Maxine continued to run the business for the next 20 years. She was loved by the whole community for her kindness and understanding. She was a longtime and devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of McGregor.
Mrs. Connor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 9 siblings.
She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Ralph Sheer, Linda Kay and Tommy Kelley and Judy and Jim Fox; grandchildren, Mary Lyle, Charlie Lippe, Cherry Kay Stanton, Jonathan Fox, Jason Fox, and Jennifer Fox; 8 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Fox, Jason Fox, Charlie Lippe, Richard Lyle, Joshua Lippe, Bobby Stanton and Jonathan Barfield. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Lyle and Braxton Stanton.
