

Leo “Honey Paw” Hinton of McGregor passed away Sunday morning, August 11, 2013, at the age of 75. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth St. McGregor. Interment will follow in Valley Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, at Cole Funeral Home.
Mr. Hinton was born November 23, 1937, in Valley Mills, Texas the son of the late Henry Otis and Reba Agnes (Odle) Hinton where he was a 1957 graduate of Valley Mills High School. On August 20, 1956, he married Leta Ruth Kiser. After forty-one years of marriage, she preceded him in death, November 8, 1997.
In 1988 he moved to McGregor from Waco and was employed by the Dwyer Group in Waco until his 2002 retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed upholstery work.
Also preceding him in death was a son, James “Scooter” Hinton.
Survivors include a son, Rusty Hinton and wife Linda of Oglesby; a daughter, Cyndie Traxtle and husband William of McGregor; an adopted daughter, Annie Gorman of McGregor; four brothers, Judge Hinton of Valley Mills, James Hinton and wife Billie of McGregor, Jack Hinton and wife Jane of Valley Mills, Jerry Hinton and wife Diane of Pottsboro; a sister, Jane Holt of Meridian; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
