Pauline V. Lawrence, 100, passed away September 2, 2020. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas, officiated by Pastor Joy Fattori. Interment will be at a later date.
Pauline V. Lawrence was born October 4, 1919, in Gatesville, Texas, to Grover C. Voss and Myrtle Patteson Voss. She attended Plainview School and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1937. On September 5, 1942, she married Savoy Lawrence of Oglesby, Texas and they lived in Oglesby their entire married life. Pauline was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Oglesby. She served as Sunday School teacher, served on various church committees, and served as a volunteer in other ways. She worked for the Selective Service System in Waco, Temple, and Gatesville before retiring in 1973. Prior to that, she worked in the County Clerk’s office, Abstract Office, and War Project Office in Gatesville. Her husband, Savoy, was a farmer all his life and she supported him in any way she could. Pauline was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Savoy; sisters, Della Shelton and Sophie Melbern. Survivors include daughter, Barbara Martin and husband, Edd, of Crawford; grandchildren, Matthew Martin and wife, Jamie, of Belton, Evan Martin and wife, Melanie, of Fort Worth, Bethany Martin, of Denver, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Lennon and Reagan Martin, of Belton, Ellis, Cora, and Miles Martin, of Fort Worth.
