Richard "Ricky" Alan Herod

Mr. Richard “Ricky” Alan Herod of Robinson passed away August 28, 2010 after a brave battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 in the evening on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Cole Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 in the morning on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Interment to follow in Moody Cemetery. Ricky was born June 16, 1949, in Temple, Texas, the son of the late Frank D. Herod, Sr. and Lanie E. Davis Herod. Ricky was a graduate of Moody High School. He loved his motorcycles, antique cars, coo coo clocks and guns. But most of all he loved his family. His greatest passion in life was doing for others. He loved his wife, kids and his grandchildren. On October 10, 1987, he married Kathy Kaluza Herod in Waco, Texas. Ricky and close friends George and Vicki Meyer started Meyer-Herod General Industrial Services twenty-six years ago.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Frank Davis Herod, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Herod; son, Richard Alan Herod, Jr. and wife Allison; step sons, Chris Eckenrode and wife Misty, Jason Eckenrode and wife Jennifer; seven grandchildren; mother and father-in-law, Rudy and Ernestine Kaluza; several nieces, nephews and a host of special friends.
