

Sophie Willmann Sandhoff, 97, of McGregor, Texas passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2016, at Cole Funeral Home, in McGregor.
Sophie was born May 23, 1918, in McLennan County, to Fritz Willmann and Lena Lander Willmann, and was a life-long resident of McGregor. She married Lonnie Sandhoff on September 25, 1937, and they farmed the Coryell City and McGregor area for many years. They celebrated 43 years of marriage, before his death on March 11, 1981.
Mrs. Sandhoff was a homemaker, who loved quilting, Skipbo, Dominoes, and serving at the McGregor Senior Citizen’s Center. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for 70 years, where she enjoyed friendship and fellowship.
Sophie was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Minnie Pietzsch, brothers; Tilbert Willmann and Albert Willmann; son-in-law; Raymond Wiethorn, and her husband Lonnie Sandhoff
Survivors include daughters, Carol Wiethorn, of McGregor, Patsy Miller and husband, John, of Gatesville, son; Roger Sandhoff and wife, Kay, of Larkspur, Colorado, grandchildren; Sherri Orr, Susan Steinke, Wade Miller, Darren Wiethorn, Derek Sandhoff, Dena Parsons, and Mark Miller, 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
