Tommy Nelson Bovee

Tommy Nelson Bovee, 74, of McGregor, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2026. Born October 3, 1951, in McGregor, Texas, Tommy was the son of Lester and Rosie (Stephens) Bovee. He grew up in the McGregor area and attended McGregor Schools.

Tommy served his country in the United States Army, including service in Vietnam and Germany. Throughout his life, he was known for a steady generosity and a kind-hearted spirit—qualities that showed in the care he extended to others and the compassion with which he met both everyday moments and life’s larger trials.

In 1976, Tommy married Brenda Kaye Hartsell, and together they shared over 46 wonderful years of marriage until her death on April 20, 2022. Tommy is survived by his son, Mark Bovee; his sister, Judy Herring; his grandchildren, Stetson, Jordan, Rhinnon, Harley, and Ace; six great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers, Jimmy and Jerry; and his sister, Doris.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on April 21, 2026, at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West 5th Street, McGregor, Texas 76657.
