

Vernita Lehrmann Wagnon passed from this life November 1st, 2025, at the age of 95 in McGregor with her daughter by her side. Vernita was born to Henry Lehrmann and Hulda Helm Lehrmann on May 30, 1930, in Coryell City, Texas. She was baptized and confirmed at St John’s Lutheran Church, Coryell City, Texas and was a lifelong Lutheran.
Vernita was united in marriage to HG Wagnon on July 30, 1950, at Zion Lutheran in McGregor. They made their home in McGregor and were married 62 years before HG’s passing in 2012.
She worked at Kinder’s in McGregor and Wall’s Factory in Clifton. But for most of her life, Vernita was a homemaker and being able to keep her grandchildren who she was the best Mamaw to. She took great joy in crocheting and quilting and made many gifts that her family will always cherish. Vernita also enjoyed playing her Pick 3 numbers, bingo and monthly Keno games, and luck was usually on her side.
Vernita was predeceased by her parents, husband HG Wagnon, son Larry Wagnon, and grandson Michael Andrew Lella. Brothers, Raymond Lehrmann, Marvin Lehrmann, Hubert Lehrmann & Melvin Lehrmann and sister Wanda Lehrmann. Nephew Daniel Lehrmann and nieces Patricia Lehrmann Bard & Kay Lehrmann Wade.
She is lovingly survived by daughter, Linda Wagnon Lella, granddaughters Melissa Lella Pevehouse and husband Chris, Amy Lella and fiancé Joe Lopez, great grandson Michael Austin Lella and her “baby girls”, great great granddaughters, Makynleigh Lella and Macee Lella.
Sister, as Vernita was known to family, is also survived by brother, Charles “Shorty” Lehrmann. Nieces, Neta Lehrmann Wiethorn, Janet Lehrmann Harper and Carolyn Lehrmann Flowers and nephews Michael Lehrmann & Steve Lehrmann.
Service will be Thursday November 6, 2025 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with visitation before at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at McGregor City Cemetery.
