Walter August Brinkman Jr.

Walter August Brinkman Jr., 77, of McGregor, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor. The burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday, August 22, at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, at the funeral home.

Walter was born on February 2, 1948, to Lillie Veal (Dew) and Walter August Brinkman Sr. in Houston, Texas. He attended Baylor University and Baylor Dental School (Go Bears!) and owned and operated a dental office on Main Street in McGregor for 39 years. Walter married Sharon Ann (Broom) Brinkman on August 19, 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hugh Louis Brinkman; and sister, Sue Brinkman Alston. He is survived by his wife of 52 years; children, Erin Brinkman Kinch and husband Stephen, Jamie Elizabeth Brinkman and husband Mengmeng Zhang; grandchildren, Summerlyn Anne and Karalynn Noelle Kinch; and three chihuahuas, Happy, Lucky, and Toby.
