Anthony was born January 14, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Michael and Josephine Cordisio but lived his childhood and most of his adult life in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was a master carpenter who started his career in cabinetry, went on to build large scale structures like the double decker Girard Point Bridge in Philadelphia, and eventually came to work for S Hecht & Sons where he began as a carpenter and retired as a project manager. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1050, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Anthony was proud of his Italian heritage. He loved to cook and everyone loved when he did. Friends and relatives would look forward to having his stuffed olives, clams casino, and cioppino during the holidays in addition to the many other dishes he enjoyed making. He was also a great bowler and after retiring from carpentry he combined his love of cooking and bowling by opening a deli called AC's Place in the bowling alley where he bowled.
He moved to Florida in 2005 to get away from the cold and enjoy the sunshine for a while before finally settling in Virginia. He loved fishing, crabbing, creating beautiful stained glass works of art, watching sports (especially the Philadelphia Eagles), and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Michael Cordisio, his mother, Josephine Cordisio, and his "goombah", Albert Segrest.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Cordisio; his beloved daughter, Tedra Dambro, and son-in-law, Louis Dambro; his cherished granddaughter Aurora Dambro; his sister JoAnn Profita (Tom); cousins Dot Brady (John), Gerry Guerra (Roy), Roe Lanshe (Lowell), and many more; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews that he loved; and friends who were always thought of as more family then friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM at Church of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 8257 Meadowbridge Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Following the service, a reception will be held at Kings Charter Clubhouse, 9407 Kings Charter Dr., Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
